Ali’s Lollapalooza 2011
Lollapalooza was over two months ago, but I’ve finally gotten around to uploading all 545 photos off my phone - many of which were from summer concerts and festivals, including Lollapalooza.
I got the opportunity to work as event staff at the Perry’s Stage again this year during Lollapalooza. Unlike last year, I didn’t make it all three days and bailed on Sunday when the opportunity for a C3 Guest Pass arose. Plus, you’ll see my legs if you watch my photostream - my body had sort of had it (see awesome pic of me catching a small person crowd surfer and using muscles that probably hadn’t been used since the last Phish run). The first two days of 2011 were a lot harder than last year, when I worked Perry’s Stage for the first time. The womp-untz-electro hybrid crowd has gained so much popularity and energy, it sort of became overwhelming.
Sunday afternoon consisted mostly of being sopping wet, running around behind the Music Unlimited Stage chasing Dave Grohl. Luckily, I had experience in trying to have a backstage run-in with a man one loves (I had spent an hour of Lollapalooza 2009 running around behind that same stage in hopes of meeting Snoop Dogg, which resulted in about a hundred pictures of the back of his head), so I was able to help out a friend search for Grohl.
